As a modern high performance fish, the Squid’s outline is broken up around the tail area into 3 “wings,” aiding in rail-to-rail turns. Basically, like small little fingers, the wings dig into the surface of the water, allowing for tight turns and better control. The Squid’s rocker (low entry), bottom (deep sing to double concave with vee out the tail), and thickness are similar to our standard shortboard models, yet the Squid has a combined wide point just above the center of the board. This template is a responsive all around shape. If you are not worried about wave count, or upsetting the other surfers in the water, then this is the board for you. WARNING: may make other surfers jealous and angry. |
